A London-based university has developed a self-locating, light-weight hip replacement joint, fabricated from shape memory
alloy and ceramic materials using diffusion bonding, and coated with diamond-like carbon (DLC) for improved wear
resistance and lower friction in the hip. The group is looking for an industrial partner in the medical devices field for licensing
and/or joint development.
A French SME specialised in design and development of equipment for displacement and fast transport of loads in urban
environment proposes a new innovating patented concept of cargo scooter. The innovating aspect of this concept consists of
an ergonomic trunk with strong transport capacity of goods. The company seeks partners for commercial, joint venture and
financial collaboration.
A Slovenian inventor offers a bicycle rack, which can hold 12 bicycles simultaneously regardless of the type or size of the
bicycle. The unique construction of the rack frame enables maximum no of bicycles on a minimum space, inside or outside
use, minimum package weight and volume, quick, easy assembly or disassembly storage and additional option for self
displaying and sun/rain protection. A license, manufacturing or commercial agreement with technical assistance is being
sought.
A consortium of companies developed a calibration technology for dynamic airflow measurement tools that will comply with
upcoming standards for lung diagnostic equipment. Partners are sought that are interested in developing other applications
of the core technology or are interested to implement the technology in their measurement systems.
Three Spanish research centres have developed sequences, vectors and microorganisms, which encode a membrane
glycosiltransferase that catalyses the synthesis of a b-D-glucan. This polymer can be used as food additive, and it is beneficial
for human health. On the other hand, this microorganism can be used as a coadjutant in fermentation processes such as
production of dairy products and oat-based food. A license agreement is sought with an agrofood industry, cosmetics or
biotech company.
An English private inventor has developed a novel paintbrush that enables the brush to be cleaned in seconds. After cleaning
the brush is dry to be used again on another colour or to be stored until it is needed again. The inventor is looking for license,
manufacturing or joint venture agreements.
A French company active in non-destructive testing has developed an ultrasound control system that allows carrying out non-
destructive tests on plane or complex zones hard to reach, thanks to a reduced size and weight. The multi-channel technology
offers greater rates of control and brings down expertise costs. The system can be used in manufacturing or maintenance (air
transport, naval or petrochemical industry). The company is looking for a commercial agreement with technical assistance.
A Spanish SME with deep experience in acoustic engineering offers its know-how and partnership for co-operative
developments in order to solve noise problems in order to improve the environment by reducing acoustic pollution. The
company is looking for partners to establish a technical co-operation agreement but they are also open to other types of co-
operation.
A Polish university developed a new concept of radial bearing with conformal fit of sliding surfaces. Very large load capacity
and low friction resistance distinguishes the new bearing from the existing ones. The university is interested in a
manufacturing agreement and in a license agreement.
A Turkish SME developed a fully automatic wastewater treatment system especially for domestic wastewater treatment
applications in capacities ranging from 50 people to 10,000 people. The system consumes less electricity and occupies less
space than its known examples in the activated sludge technology market. The company is interested in discussing licensing
agreements, joint ventures, technical cooperation agreements or commercial agreements with technical assistance.
Test procedures and simulation of interference scenarios are of great importance to medical devices manufactures and federal
bodies with regard to human safety aspects of active implants, e.g. cardiac pacemakers. A German company with vast
knowledge in electromagnetic (EM) simulations and measurement principles seeks partners, e.g. medical device suppliers, for
technical co-operation to implement tests and to develop further the expert knowledge they acquired in national projects.
A small Slovakian company with high growth potential has developed a new adsorbent of crude oil and petrochemical
substances from water or the ground. It is a very simple and interesting way of cleaning of contaminated water or soil. They
are looking for partners for license or joint venture.
