A small Dutch company developed a prototype of patented system for thermal treatment of cut grass and alfalfa. The
thermal treatment is such that the cell walls in the cut green crop are broken. This speeds up the natural drying process
dramatically if the grass is being left in the land for further drying. If the grass is collected and centrally dried only 25%
of the energy is needed compared to the conventional method. The Dutch company is interested in a license agreement.
A Spanish company has developed a desktop trainer-simulator for practical training for design, development and
installation of automated irrigation systems. It allows carrying out practical installations using the latest technology in
control and management of irrigation systems. The company is open to commercial agreements with technical
assistance with potential users such as agricultural schools and training centres, and also to manufacturing agreements
with electronic devices producers.
An Irish research team has developed and optimised a DNA probe technique that facilitates rapid, high-throughput
detection and identification of minute quantities of mussel DNA in plankton and/or food samples. This molecular probe
has applications in aquaculture, allowing tracking of larval dispersion in plankton to determine the optimum time and
place of mussel seed settlement. The group seeks enquiries from appropriate SMEs for further development and
application of the technique.
A Norwegian SME has developed a novel and revolutionary technology for growing grass in the shade on football pitches.
The technology enables grass growth during the whole winter season, providing natural grass of very good quality.
Applying artificial light from a mobile rig makes this possible. The rig system is comprised of sections that fold together,
each section comprising of 16 sodium lights bulbs. The company is seeking commercial agreements with technical
assistance.
The German innovation of a circulating air oven compared with the state of the art technology is the new self-regulating
control of the oven with a clear text display. The circulating air oven has a high reliability in the daily operation and
relieves the user because of a useful technology. The oven consists of a water connection or a water tank for a steaming
and can be easily and fast cleaned. The potential partner should transfer the technology into his own business according
requirements.
A French Service and Premix company has developed an innovative additive solution replacing antibiotic growth
promoters and aimed at enhancing poultry production performances. The French company is seeking a partner for
commercial agreement with technical assistance.
A Bulgarian research institute has developed a sorter for potatoes according to the presence and size of defective parts
in them. A priority of the technology is to detect defects in the whole volume of the fruit flesh, regardless of the peel
quality. Another priority is sorting in more classes - from 4 to 7, so the raw material is used more rationally in
correspondence with its quality. Partners from industry are being sought for the development, manufacture and
commercialisation.
The Spanish company is a provider of machinery for the food industry. The company offers a system of boiling and
cooling fish, the temperature and pressure parameters of the machinery could be controlled by a computer in order to
obtain a high performance. On the one hand the company is looking for final customer (canned fish companies) and on
the other the company has a limited capacity of getting to international markets, it's seeking a sales representative
company (food machinery provider).
Israeli researchers have developed a novel medical diagnostic technology that enables accurate detection and
quantitative analysis of colour changes of teeth and oral lesions. The tool allows for images to be compared and
analysed without being influenced by changes in ambient light, enabling evaluation of the degree of response to
treatment, or of the degree of spontaneous healing of the lesion. The researchers are looking for partners to complete
development of a marketable product.
A Spanish public research group has developed a non-human knockout mammal that lacks detectable levels of vav3
protein expression. These animals show serious defects in the cardiovascular & nervous system and, therefore, are
excellent experimental models to evaluate the effect of new drugs & molecules directed towards treatment of
cardiovascular (hypertension) and nervous diseases (stress, schizophrenia, neurodegenerative, Parkinson). A biopharma
company interested in such drugs is sought.
A furniture technological centre that is situated in the north of the Region of Murcia has developed an automatic system
to manage the stock of rolls for the upholstery industry (and for all kinds of stocks). The system is able to solve this
problem by using a radio frequency chip (TAG). This centre offers the know-how with technical assistance for
implementing this technology, including engineering and training.
A UK company has developed a Web site framework for the sale of financial products. The system, which can be used to
promote insurance policies, saving plans and mortgages over the Internet offers complete security and is available as a
modular system allowing users to apply the system in accordance to their needs. The company is seeking partners for
commercial agreements with technical assistance.
A Spanish research institute has patented a new method for preparing thin films, with a chemical composition on the
surface that is structured at the micrometric or nanometric scales, on any kind of support. This method can pattern any
type of functional compound on a polymeric thin film for a wide variety of applications. The institute is looking for
industrial partners for a license agreement especially in the electronics and information storage sectors.
Irish HPSU has produced a 3D screen technology, a passive optical screen that enhances the depth of a display e.g. LCD
monitor, plasma screen or CRT. It’s a unique device that’s able to enhance the image produced from a standard image
source like LCD monitors, gaming screens. It brings out the best in 3D graphics by enhancing the perceived depth. No
electronics or special software required & no special glasses needed. It magnifies the image by about 20%. Company is
offering licensing agreements.
