A Scottish SME has developed and has patents pending on Adaptive Radio Technology (ART) products, capable of
supporting multiple wireless standards in a single silicon device. The company is looking for various agreements
with manufacturers and contractors from sectors such as consumer electronics, automotive electronics and defence.
A German software company developed a database information system as runtime environment for its special
computer language, which allows building complex data-oriented applications. The platform is also open for other
languages and allows very flexible data manipulation. Persistent storage, incremental backups, cold recovery, and
history functions are also supported. Shortly, the system is an integrated database/application platform. A joint
venture agreement is looked for.
A group of researchers from a Turkish university has developed software that enables generation of spoken output
from a text written in Turkish. The program uses pre-recorded human sounds and can emulate any word in
Turkish. The program also contains a language parser for the Turkish language. As soon as the development stage
finishes the program will be adaptable to other languages as well. The researchers are looking for financial
resources and commercial agreement with technical support.
In collaboration with 2 technical universities, a Dutch SME has developed and patented a unique vertical axis wind
turbine, especially designed for use in cities, on high buildings (areas with fast changing wind directions). The
turbine is able to utilise wind from any changing direction. The company is looking for partners that can
manufacture the mechanical parts of the turbines, and/or a partner that does the local marketing and can service
the local installation of the turbines.
A Spanish research centre has developed an optimal bio-ethanol production process from different types of sugar waste;
moreover the technology would be able to adapt to several raw materials only by modifying the control variables, and
could be operate with starch, Jerusalem artichoke, waste sugar juice, etc. A pilot plant is available for demonstration.
The research institute is looking for technical co-operation or commercial agreement with technical assistance.
A firm located in Rome specialised in research, planning and implementation of electrical energy generation
systems fuelled by a renewable source has created a line of electrical generators with accumulation. These
generators are photovoltaic but also aeolian, fixed or portable, highly innovative, adaptable to every use. A
commercial agreement with technical assistance is sought.
A Portuguese university developed an innovative hybrid solar/gas system intended to provide cooling/heating and
electricity generation for buildings. The system may use an ejector heat pump cycle or a Rankin cycle. The
researchers are looking for companies interested in industrial development and commercialisation.
A Spanish SME has developed an innovative fast battery charger that, depending on its power, brings the highest
intensity, which is around one third of the battery’s capacity (according to the battery’s temperature). This
charger produces a current intensity not only flatter but also less curled than any other conventional charger,
which involves a longer working life. The company is looking for partners to establish a license agreement.
A German institute has participated in several projects dealing with conversion of waste fats to biofuel. They offer
know-how and expertise in the conversion of waste fats to fuel of the same quality as petrol. A new process works
with catalytic conversion reactions. Partners are sought for technical co-operation to further develop the process
as well as for a transfer of the method and to exploit new applications the process can be integrated into.
A UK SME has developed a water monitoring system. The technology is based on a patented flow monitoring
process and is used to detect the presence of water leaks in consumer supply pipe networks. The system uses the
latest radio technology to transfer usage and flow data from inaccessible or impractical water meter locations to a
compact, user-friendly display/leak alarm unit. The company is looking for an industrial partner capable of
manufacturing a range of products under license.
A Swedish company working with design of different kinds of short sea ships is looking for partners to further
develop and explore the results from different R&D programs regarding environmentally friendly ship design. The
company has made basic design of tankers and RO-RO ships and is also working with smaller ships for canals
combined with short sea transport. The company is looking for partners for further exploiting the results to build
new ships according to ecological ship design.
A German SME offers know-how and service in development and production of thermoplastic materials. They are
setting new standards in development and production of press plates, e.g. for signs in advertisement or for safety
engineering in vehicle construction. Know-how can be transferred via their own products, subcontracting or
common development of new products for new applications. Sought are mainly partners for technical cooperation
but other forms of cooperation are also interesting.
A UK company offers surface and interface analysis to solve problems, and validate processes and cleanliness, as
part of a quality control program. The organisation works with most industries. Their rapid turnaround and
confidential analysis can help improve processes and efficiency as well as solving problems, which in turn can save
money and time. A technical cooperation or commercial agreement is sought.
