A Bulgarian researcher has developed and patented new low-cost technology for bread products with
vegetable yeast and biological active ingredients enriched to its maximum by high-quality whey
proteins, Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus bacteria. The patent offers an
opportunity to create bread and a large range of bread articles that are recommended to people
suffering diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, cardiac diseases, and overweight problems.

An Icelandic engineering SME together with an inventor is developing a semi-automatic transport
system intended for registration, storing and unloading of products onboard fishing vessels. The
system will be suitable for vessels that produce wet fish in boxes/tubes and/or as a frozen product
packed and stowed on pallets. The company is searching a European partner capable of aiding in the
development of the new technology.
An Estonian SME has developed a technology for non-invasive breast cancer screening using Fourier
transform infrared spectroscopy. The technology is considerably less costly than mammography and
allows remote screening with minimal effort from the public. Industrial partner is sought for further
development and marketing of the technology.
A French cider manufacturer patented an innovative and cheap process to produce phloridzin from
apple seeds. This compound is effective against obesity, diabetes and heart diseases. The
manufacturer is looking for a partnership with an industrial company interested in buying the seeds
and getting a license for using his process to produce and market phoridzin.
An Israeli company develops and markets innovative proprietary e-Health / telemedicine wireless
technology and telemedicine services. The combination of all the features in one compatible product

A UK company has developed a novel closure method for laparoscopic surgery with potential to become
the universal method of securing a suture. The device allows surgeons to quickly & easily tension a
suture and secure it with a biodegradable clip. The normal method of securing a suture is to tie a knot,
which is time-consuming & difficult. Using this device the security of the suture is guaranteed &
procedural time dramatically reduced. Partnership sought with a medical devices manufacturer.
An Italian research group has developed a self-balancing navigation system to guide and stop surgical
tools with high precision. Once positioned the device is also able to activate a surgical tool. Medical
applications include: representation in Enhanced Reality of surgical procedures, navigation of the
patient's body, measuring forces exerted by the doctor, etc. The research group is looking for
industrial partners for testing/adaptation of new applications, engineering, further development.
An Italian ICT company has developed software for the integration of documents that are located
within database of libraries and cultural institutes. The tool is able to research and visualise the
images and the corresponding transcriptions by using web technologies at both levels, intranet and
internet. The company is looking for a commercial agreement with technical assistance.
