A French laboratory has know-how in the field of detection and analysis of digital transmissions in a non-cooperative
context. The developed methods allow detection of telecommunication signals, even when they are hidden under the noise
level or under another transmission. Contrary to existing operational systems, the methods developed are not restricted to
a particular standard. An industrial partner is sought. The area of activity of the partner should be Defence or
Telecommunications.
An Italian SME and a TLC engineer have specified a data communication system that allows a portable PC connected to a
mobile radio terminal, namely to the whole of radiotelephone and modem, to access both Internet and Intranet through
the GPRS or UMTS access networks, maintaining data service continuity. They are looking for a company which
implements the software at the end-users’ of the GPRS or UMTS access networks for mobile Intranet access to both client-
server and IBM computer systems.
Slovenian university has developed novel a new ultra small fiber optic pressure sensor. The outer diameter of the sensor is
only 125 um and it features fully dielectric design. The demonstrated pressure range for the sensor is a) 0-40Kpa (0-
300mmHg) and b) 0-1200 KPa. The sensor is useful for both biomedical and industrial applications. The sensor features
simple manufacturing technique. The University is seeking partners for commercialization or strategic alliance for further
development.
Slovenian university has developed novel optical fiber strain sensor. The sensor can be used for structural monitoring and
design of other sensors. The sensor features straightforward manufacturing technique, small size, potential low
investment high volume production, and low temperature dependence. It can be configured in quasi-distributed network
based on time domain multiplexing. The University is seeking partners for commercialization or strategic alliance for
further development.
A small Bulgarian scientific group has developed an uninterruptible power system, algorithms and software for control of
the system, developed for responsible loads (computer, communications & some special systems). High efficiency
coefficient, low coefficient of distortion of the output voltage under unsteady loads, possibility to be implemented
different output powers including parallel working unified modules are achieved. Partners are sought for manufacturing
agreement & financial support.
A French university patented a technology that consists of a process, compatible with the IEEE 802.11 norms, to save
energy during receiving or sending data on wireless networks. This process permits a good handover between wired
networks and wireless networks too. The university is looking for a co-development or a license agreement with an
industrial partner.
A Bulgarian research organisation has developed a new, highly efficient construction material and technology for its
production. On the basis of in-depth experimental investigations and mathematical-statistical analysis, the most proper
composition was determined and the technological modes for production of wood-slag boards were optimised.
Cooperation, involving commercial agreement, technical assistance (engineering, training, consultancy) and financial
support from European partners is sought.
A Scottish (UK) SME has developed and patented an inspection technique using an Optically Active Additive (OAA) that,
when introduced into an existing coating formulation, enables easier inspection during application and through the life of
the coating without degrading the performance of the existing coating formulation. OACS is a novel system within the
defect-free coatings market. The company seeks a major partner with worldwide distribution of defect-free coatings.
A Maltese micro enterprise specialist in the artisan sector of decorative glass panels seeks partners active in fabrication of
apertures, such as doors and windows, for a joint venture agreement. The Maltese company offers know-how on this
unique hand-made glass cutting and assembly technique in order to expand capacity and diffuse this niche craft.
A German research institute has developed "smart" gaskets with integrated security functions by incorporating an electrode
array into the body of the sealing material. Thus, even minimal leakages of the gasket are detectable far in advance of a
macroscopic untightness. Ageing effects in the sealing material itself can also be controlled by a computer. The institute seeks
industrial partners able to make such sealings and such ones from tank and pipeline construction to implement the system.
A Bulgarian research institute offers advanced products as ceramic membranes, like zeolite with controlled pore size, dense
oxide membranes with high oxygen conductivity, applied in the field of energy, environmental protection. The institute uses
methods like hydrothermal crystallization of gels, conventional solid-state sintering, wet chemical synthesis. Cooperation
with scientific institutes/universities for testing of zeolite membranes under catalytic membrane reactor conditions is sought.
An Italian company has developed a low-cost and efficient system to reduce iron and zinc oxides. The process allows
reduction of metal oxides, chlorides and sulphates by using electromagnetic waves directly on the materials to be treated.
The system reduces energy and plant costs and increases production efficiency. The company is looking for technical
cooperation to implement the system in different production and industrial partners interested in testing the technology.
