Inventors in Latvia have developed an innovative technology for quantitative ultrasonic (QUS) assessment of bones based on multi-
parametric approach. Introduction of different wave modalities in broadband diapason and axial scanning differ our method from
routine single mode QUS. The technology can be used for medical applications: quantitative ultrasonometry of bone and osteoporosis
assessment. The inventors are looking for companies specialized in biomaterials, food or medical engineering.
An Italian SME, skilled in computer graphics and virtual reality, offers advanced know-how in stereoscopic video, a technique for
perceiving images in three-dimensional relief, with a renewed applicability for marketing and simulation of products (e.g. cars, etc.).
The company is looking for technological partners, operating in the production and distribution of stereoscopic displays and
visualisation solutions at European level, for joint realisation of stereoscopic video.
OLEX is a knowledge-based system that allows the end-user to access documents “by concepts”. The system is based on the
construction of “ontologies” – i.e. formal representations of the knowledge about a given application domain – and it supports a full
set of features for the knowledge engineer to construct and maintain the knowledge base. An Italian fast-growing research spin-off
looks for the expertise to develop a specific domain application based on OLEX.
A small Spanish company has developed ‘cdDOC’, which is software created for the development of multimedia catalogues. With
‘cdDOC’ a company can show in an interactive way the portfolio of its products. The software also allows providing clients with
documentation. Advantages over conventional catalogues include its interactivity & good presentation, improving the image of the
company. Licensing & commercial agreements are sought with software publishing companies or directly with final users.
An Italian SME has developed _Net technology, an Internet connectivity solution allowing to reduce costs for automation and
industrial systems. They offer new standard products, as well as custom solutions to make Internet-ready existing devices. The main
advantages of _Net products are the availability of IP infrastructure, the low costs of final solutions, and the possibility to implement
embedded user interfaces. They are looking for license/commercial agreement and technical co-operation.
A small Hungarian company offers a fleet management system for transportation companies, to record the actual technical parameters
of commercial vehicles. The technology allows a follow up and evaluation of the fuel consumption of vehicles, assisting even increase of
competitiveness. Data storage capacity: min. 85 days. Cooperation partners can be owners and lessees of fleets, as well as
representatives of truck manufacturers.
A Hungarian SME is developing a status monitoring system which fits the needs of large industrial companies, communal service
providers as well as firms operating broad fleet of vehicles and insitutions with several real estate properties. It can be applied to
manage any kind of industrial facility and geographically dispersed real estate properties/transportation units. The Ltd seeks
consulting firms with IT background and good local connection for lisensing/technical cooperation/joint venture.
A Hungarian SME dealing with facility management has developed an Internet based CAFM system. It converts the 3D plans into an SQL
database which can be viewed by any kind of internet browser. The potential clients having a 3D system which holds facility data can
access the system from laptop or mobile phone. The Ltd seeks partners with proper local connections to introduce and perform the
system. The Ltd supplies the licence and know-how. Estimated project cost: between 20-100 thousand EUR.
A Hungarian SME dealing with facility management has developed a system which contains audit of industrial facilities, records the
gained data in 3D CAD (architectural) system, links them to operator manuals and status logs and provids an expert systems with
externally metered values. It can be easily used for any kind of facility. The client’s benefit is that the structure of the facility is
available on a blueprint level. The Ltd is looking for partners for licensing/technical cooperation.
An Italian SME offers a new workflow solution for management of industrial maintenance processes. All system functions can be
accessed from fixed/mobile stations on Internet/Intranet networks, through MS Internet Explorer. Typical functions for
preventive/conservative maintenance; supply management; reporting; etc. are provided. The company is looking for
technological/commercial/end-users partners for joint applications under license or commercial agreements.
A Spanish SME has developed a web based suite (Hipergate) that contains modules for: CRM, Customer Support, Intranet/GroupWare,
Project management, e-mail marketing, Knowledge Management, and e-Business. The system is the biggest Spanish open source
project. Hipergate brings a new business model for consultants and researchers based on free software. The company is interested in
contacting software Consultants and/or R&D Departments with ability extend and/or redistribute Hipergate locally.
A research group from a Spanish public university has developed a 2D temporal filtering of image features for point tracking, whose
output is a set of consolidated trajectories that leads to the possibility of performing a later and robust camera calibration and scene
3D reconstruction from the validated and tracked features points. The group would like to contact institutions for further research
and/or development.
A Galician company, in Spain, has developed a piece of software for the management, settlement and examination of capital gains in
