A German University of Applied Sciences has developed a new force sensor that can be produced in a simple and cheap
way. The new measuring device of a force sensor does not have to be placed in a coating plant any more. Instead the
sensor is fixed on a cheap and small carrier element and welded with the measuring device. The university is looking for
a partner for further development and commercialisation of the technology.
Pharmacology centre of Italian university has developed an in vitro biological system able to detect and quantify
estrogenic activity of mixed and pure environmental and natural compounds. It allows the detection of the specific
mechanism involved in the estrogenic activity. Assay is simple and fast and can be applied to environmental research
toxicity. Collaboration for technical development of technology with companies from food/environment sector is sought.
The Italian branch of a multi-national company is promoting a new technological system to develop automated
biosensors for detecting microbiological contamination in air. The most important application areas are: air pollution
monitoring, certifying the atmosphere quality in an industrial work environment and controlling air re-circulation of
any confined spaces. The method uses optical techniques that generate very accurate and real time results. Licensing or
patent sale is sought.
An Irish company that specialises in development and manufacture of customised tablet products is looking for partners
interested in joint development of customised solid-dose formats (e.g. tablets) of non-pharmaceutical products.
A Maltese inventor in the field of sports equipment has developed a machine that is able to project a shuttlecock against
a player on a badminton court at different directions, strengths and intervals for training purposes. It comprises of a
stand, loading assembly and striking assembly to project the shuttlecock. The striking mechanism is powered and
controlled by electro-mechanical means. He is looking for a joint venture agreement and/or manufacturing agreement.
A Polish SME is specialising in manufacturing of industrial fittings, including knife gate valves, which can be applied in
pulp & paper, chemical, sugar industry & in water & sewage systems & treatment plants. In order to achieve higher
parameters of work, construction of knife gate valves has been changed. New knife gate valves differ from their
predecessors in a special vertical seal. The company is interested in tech. collaboration, license & commercial agreement
with technical assistance.
Polish company specialised in providing services for movie industry has developed a telescopic camera crane. In
comparison to typical camera cranes, it is fully controlled by electrical engines (engines without use of physical force of
a human being). The company is interested in establishing contacts with partners interested in further development and
implementation of this solution.
A UK company has developed a cost-effective device to accurately measure, control and manipulate a range of
frequencies. The device was originally developed as an automatic guitar tuner and can simultaneously tune all six
strings in seconds. The core patented technology will interest industries where vibration monitoring, control and
harmonisation are required. The company is keen to develop a licensing portfolio for applications outside the music
industry, e.g. Automotive & Aerospace.
A company in Northern Ireland has fully patented new technology for cooking indoors or outdoors using either charcoal
or gas as a fuel. The company now wants to license the technology to a European manufacturer with good access to the
recreational cooking market.
A small French company has developed new equipment in the environment field. The concept presented is to make
available a nearby collection service for used equipment (like TV, furniture, etc.) and big domestic wastes. The unit is
made of a lorry equipped with six skips corresponding to six categories of waste. It makes it possible to solve the
problems of management of bulky waste regularly collected by local councils. The company is looking for partners to
develop the concept.
An Italian SME has developed a process for the treatment of soils contaminated by organic compounds, using eco-
friendly solvents. The main advantages are: lower environmental impact of the solvents when compared to existing
thermal treatments; the possibility to achieve an excellent reclamation efficiency level; the effectiveness for a large array
of organic pollutants in a broad spectrum of concentrations. The company is looking for collaboration with industries or
research organisations.
An Italian SME has developed a set of innovative ecological appliances that allow protecting goods (especially cultural
and artistic heritage) from deteriorating biological agents, such as insects and microorganisms (fungi, bacteria, etc.).
The tools, based on a non-toxic approach, represent a good alternative to the current preservation and de-infestation
systems. License and commercial agreements with technical assistance are sought.
A small Dutch company owns proprietary technology for the separation of solids from liquids using a Tangential Flow
Separator (TFS). Applications include municipal sewage treatment, the offshore and (petro) chemical sector, abattoirs,
agriculture, food processing and textile mills. The TFS is recognised by many authorities and clients as an advanced and
cost-effective method for wastewater treatment. The company is interested in commercial agreements with technical
assistance.
